Full of good-natured laughs and admirable girl powerdom, Whip It is a surprise hit movie of 2009. Sure the movie is full of cliches you would expect from sports and coming-of-age movie but who cares? Whip It is an intelligently crafted film that should not be dismissed as a chick flick.

To keep her mom from prying, Bliss says that she's taking an SAT class two nights a week when really she is learning how to skate in a roller derby league, something her mom would never approve of.
As you might imagine, her mom finds out and doesn't like it, but her dad is more understanding.
